Feedback from my customer :
“ Hi, firstly thank you for such a fantastic job and for being prepared to work so late, it looks wonderful. I didn't ever think I would find a craftsman like yourself locally, and only ever dreamed of getting an original cornice replicated. The only place I could find any cornice/ coving that wasn't gyproc was on Ebay, these companies were in , Leeds, Sheffield etc.... and only offered certain patterns. You are a craftsman and your expertise should be in great demand, you really should place an ad ( cost Permitting) in one of the big house magazines, finding someone to replicate, replace and repair original plaster mouldings is not easy honestly, your attention to detail is second to non, I only wish I had known about you for the conservatory, but its not a mistake I will make again . I do have a cornice in a bedroom that is damaged and in the future would like you to repair it, but it may be a while ha ha ha . Thank you again” .

Guild of the Traditional Plastering Craft
Ryan Swart, Director of R.S Plaster Mouldings has been deservedly awarded the Guild of the Traditional Plastering Craft. After the initial application few years ago, Philip Gaches - the acting Master and his Panel were satisfied with Ryan’s work with restoration of plaster mouldings (Heritage) and confident that his work is at high standard and good customer services.
One of England’s finest ornamental plasterer, Keith Langton, who is also the member of the Guild, did the honours to present Ryan the certification. This meant the world to Ryan. Ryan’s progression with his plastering craft does not stop there, will continue to make progress and have “always learning” sort of attitude as every job have its own challenges, however he has maintained excellent network of finest plasterers in United Kingdom and Ireland to pass on the knowledge. Once a year there’s a gathering of traditional plasterers local and abroad to showcase their skills and share on the knowledge.
How is decorative coving made...
You may wonder how coving is made? Many think that they are only made in China and shipped to the U.K. in large quantities.....Far from it, Coving is originally made by the use of casting plaster (Plaster of Paris), hessian and laths. The process started in UK at 19th century.
They are hand made in our workshop using our master copy to create a cast. (Master copies are also hand made).
See pictures below for each of these processes.
